27 Jun, 2016

JAKARTA: An Indonesian parliamentary commission on Monday approved a tax amnesty bill, ensuring that the government's plan to offer low rates to taxpayers who declare untaxed wealth will take effect soon.

Based on the agreed draft of the law, the government can start offering an amnesty rate of between 2 percent and 10 percent for taxpayers coming forward with untaxed wealth at home and abroad immediately, until March 2017.

Parliament will vote on the bill on Tuesday.
