Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships C.V Conti Annapurna, M.T Globe Tanya, M.T White Purl and M.T Umm Bab carrying containers, LPG and LNG were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose terminal, SSGC Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

In the meantime two more vesseles with containers and furnace oil also got anchored at outer anchorage of Port Qasim.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 67% on wednesday where a total of ten ships namely C.V Conti Annapurna, C.V Calidris, C.V Maersk Kinloss, M.V Julia Oldendroff, M.V Trans Shanghai, M.V Orion-3, M.T Al-Bum, M.T Globe Tanya, M.T White Purl and M.T Umm Bab are currently occupying terminals to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, soya bean seeds, chemicals lpg, palm oil and diesel oil, chemicals and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 160,264 tonnes, comprising 126,729 tonnes import cargo and 33,535 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,491 containers (TEus)(2,419 imports TUEs & 421 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.

Two ships M.T Al-Bum and m.V Orion-3 sailed out to sea on Thursday same day afternoon.

Four ships C.V Maipo, M.V Ocean Prince, M.T Orient Star and M.T Atlantic Glory carrying containers, soyabean seeds, diesel oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, FAP, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Thursday, while another ship San Christobal and C.V TG Poseidon due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday.
