There is a big rush by federal and provincial government departments to use the allocated funds for various projects on the ground for the current financial year before it closes, reports UPP correspondent.
Tender notices and purchase notices are appearing in very large numbers in the different newspapers and the effort is to decide upon the tenders and offers before June 30, 2004.
However, according to informed sources there will still be a substantial sum which will remain unutilised on different projects for the current financial year and in most cases these funds would lapse unless drawn by special sanction in the accounts of the concerned departments both at federal and provincial levels.
