Meeting held to review security of LHC judges, families

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice designate Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Wednesday chaired an important meeting held at his chamber regarding security of LHC judges and their families.

Senior LHC Judge, Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali, LHC Registrar Tariq Iftikhar Ahmad, Home Secretary Punjab, Inspector General of Police Punjab, DIG Operation, Lahore and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

The police officers briefed the meeting about the security plan of LHC judges and their families.

Chief Justice designate Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah issued directions for immediate steps to rectify deficiencies in the judicial security system and ensure the safety of judges and their families as well as the whole judicial sector.

Moreover, chief justice designate also directed the home secretary and IGP to get security clearance of the LHC officers and staff from the Special Branch and ensure security of judicial complexes, judicial officers, lawyers as well as the litigant public.

Justice Mansoor asked authorities to make a new foolproof security plan in light of the new guidelines and summoned the meeting again on next Friday.
