RCB seals 40 properties for not paying tax

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) enforcement team in a crackdown against property tax defaulters on Wednesday sealed 40 properties in different areas of the city.

According to RCB spokesman, the civic body sealed the properties in Allahabad, Naseerabad, Tench Bhatta, Masrial Road, Awan Town, Bakra Mandi, Ahmedabad, Saddar, Westridge, Dhoke Mustakeem and Afshan Colony as their owners were found property tax defaulters.

He informed, the RCB teams also disconnected water supply connections of 60 domestic and commercial units in different areas as the owners failed to pay water charges.

The campaign has been launched on the special directive of Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Saima Shah.

The RCB has also recovered Rs 6.5 million property tax and Rs 800,000 water charges arrears so far, he said.
