Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Five ships C.V Calidris, C.V Maersk Kinloss, C.V Al-Khor, M.V Julia Oldendroff and M.T Al-Bum carrying containers, coal and furnace oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

In the meantime container vessel Conti Annapurna also got anchored at outer anchorage of Port Qasim.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 605 on Tuesday where a total of eight ships namely C.V Calidris, C.V Maersk Kinloss, C.V Al- Khor,j M.V Julia Oldendroff, M.V Trans Shanghai, M.V Orion-3, m.T Al- Bum, M.T Sky Ploeg and m.T Black Parl are currently occupying terminals to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, soya bean seeds, chemicals, LPG, palm oil and diesel oil, chemicals, LPG respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the Port where a cargo volume of 121,156 tonnes, comprising, 113,157 tonnes import cargo and 7,999 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,840 containers (TEUs)(2,419 imports TUEs & 421 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Two ships C.V Al-Bahia and c.V MSC Maeva sailed out to sea on Tuesday evening. Two ships M.T Sky Ploeg, m.T Black Pearl are expected to sail on Wednesday afternoon.

Four ships C.V Conti Annapurna, M.T Globe Tanya, M.T White Purl and M.T Umm Bab carrying containers, LPG and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, SSGC, EVTL and EETL respectively on Wednesday, while another ship C.V Maipo is due to arrive at Port Qasim Thursday.
