Cable operators warned of action for poor services

06 Jun, 2004

The council of complaint of Pakistan Electronics Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) at a meeting in Karachi on Saturday expressed its concern on the increase of subscribers' complaints against the poor service provided by cable operators.
The council of complaint of Pemra Sindh warned that Pemra will take appropriate legal action including the cancellation of license of all those cable operators, who do not take prompt action to rectify complaints of subscribers.
The meeting decided that the nature of complaint and its ratification will be monitored and evaluated on day-to-day basis by the Pemra and the report will be put up in the next meeting of the council for its reviews.
It also directed the "Head End Operators" to equip their 'complaint cells' with telephone facilities and the availability of generators at 'Head Ends' should also be ensured.
The meeting further directed the head end operators to ensure that customers must get uninterrupted signals of channels.
It also invited subscribers/customers to contact Pemra on UAN No: 111736111 to lodge complaint against the poor service of cable operators.
