Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships C.V AL-Bahia and M.T Sky Ploeg carrying containers and chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday.

In the meantime two more ships with containers and coal also got anchored at outer anchorage of Port Qasim.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 53% on Monday where a Bunga Angsana, M.T Al-Dasma, M.T Sky Ploeg, M.T Black Pearl are currently occupying Terminals to load/offload containers, canola seeds, soya bean seeds, chemicals, LPG palm oil and diesel oil, chemicals and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at the port where a cargo volume of 90,296 tonnes comprising 75,457 tonnes imports cargo and 14,839 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,632 containers (TEUs(2,004 imports TUEs & 1,713 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Two ships M.V Bunga Angsana and M.T Al-Dasam sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while two more ships C.V Al-Bahia and c.V MSC Maeva are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Four ships C.V Calidris, C.V Maersk Kinloss, c.V AL-Khor and M.T Al-Bum carrying containers and furnace oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Tuesday, while another ships C.V Conti Annapurna is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
