ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to submit electoral record of three polling stations (PS) of NA-110 Sialkot to National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for forensic verification of votes.

The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case filed by Usman Dar against the Election Tribunal's decision.

The counsel for ECP told the court that in compliance of the apex court directives, the Returning Officer and District Accounts Officer were directed to search the missing polling bags and also search the counterfoils in the polling bags of the correspondending polling stations of provincial assembly constituencies falling in NA-110.

The Returning Officer had transmitted the counterfoils retrieved from the corresponding polling bags of provincial assembly constituties to National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

However, he had reported that now the counterfoils of NA-110 with respect to the Polling Station No 132 were missing, besides those of polling stations No 118 and 121, he stated.

He stated that the responsibility of missing polling bags squarely lies on the DAO/TO concerned.

The counsel for Defence Minister Khawaja Asif told the court that his client wanted to wind up the case. Later, hearing of the case was adjourned till fourth week of July.
