ZTBL credit disbursement up 34 percent during January-April 2004

During Jan-April 2004 Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has increased the disbursement of credit under Revolving Finance Scheme by 34 percent as compared to corresponding period last year.
This year Rs 4099.601 million were disbursed under Revolving Finance Scheme while last year during the same period Rs 3058.415 were distributed under this scheme.
Revolving Finance Scheme has been introduced to facilitate the borrowers by simplifying documentation for loan up to Rs 500,000. To further facilitate the farmers the renewal application fees and appraisal fees have been dispensed with.
Keeping in view the increased credit needs of the farmers for improvement in water management; drainage of under ground and surface water, farm mechanisation and equipment, ZTBL is providing liberal production and development loans.
During Jan-April 2004, the bank has disbursed Rs 238.967 million for the installation of 1437 tube wells and Rs 847.581 million for the purchase of tractors and other farm equipment.
In order to make credit accessible to the land less farmers, ZTBL has also increased the micro credit for income generating self-employment by 158 percent during January-April 2004, as compared to the corresponding period last year.
