New Indian government to pursue peace with Pakistan

India's new left-leaning government said on Thursday the new administration would maintain the peace process with Pakistan launched by the previous government, but gave no details.
Reiterating statements by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his cabinet, the 20-party United Progressive Alliance (UPA) said in its policy platform, "Dialogue with Pakistan on all issues will be pursued systematically on a sustained basis."
There were few surprises in the policy roadmap for the next five years, called the Common Minimum Programme, which was finalised late on Wednesday after long negotiations between the Congress party-led coalition and its-left wing allies.
