British high commissioner calls on Hamza Shahbaz

LAHORE: British High Commissioner Thomas Drew met PML (N) Central Leader and MNA Hamza Shahbaz here on Saturday. Bilateral relations between both countries, promotion of cooperation in different sectors were discussed during the meeting.

Talking to British High Commissioner, Hamza Shehbaz said that Pakistan and Britain were strong partners in different fields and ties between the two countries were strengthening with the passage of time.

He said that present government, especially in Punjab, working on different projects in the fields of education, health and other public sectors. Hamza Shahbaz said, all major issues including load-shedding would be resolved by 2018. He lauded the cooperation by Department for International Development (DFID) and expressed hope that in future more joint ventures would be initiated.

British High Commissioner congratulated Hamza Shahbaz on the recovery of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Thomas Drew, said that Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has undertaken a number of public welfare-oriented projects which would help in upgrading the living standard of common man. He assured all out cooperation from UK, in this regard. Director DFID Ben French was also present in the meeting.
