Bus stands of international standard to be set up in Punjab

Provincial Minister for Communication and Works, Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din Khan has said that bus stands of international standard, having all modern facilities for the passengers, would be constructed throughout the province.
He directed Chief Architect Punjab to prepare a uniform design of the bus stands within 10 days, says a hand out issued here on Wednesday.
He was presiding over a high level meeting which was attended among others by the Provincial Minister for Transport, Rana Shamshad Ahmed Khan, Secretary Transport, Chief Architect, Punjab, Deputy Secretary Transport and Director administration.
The minister said the bus stands would be constructed at regional, district, Tehsil and town levels. He said that waiting rooms, tickets booths, information booths, restaurants, mosques, toilets, parking stands and terminals would also be constructed at all bus stands.
He said that government wants to regulate all bus stands so that better facilities could be available to the passengers.
He said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, all available resources are being utilised for providing basic facilities to all segments of the society.
He said that the design of bus stands would be prepared keeping in view the problems of transporters as well as their resources so that they may not face any difficulty in this regard.
