BoP to launch housing finance scheme

The Bank of Punjab (BoP) is shortly launching a housing finance scheme for the employees of the federal government.
'Necessary paper work has already been completed while the circular in this regard would soon be circulated amongst the branch managers to start receiving applications under this scheme,' sources in the BoP told Business Recorder here on Monday.
According to them, this scheme would cater all the federal employees from grade 1 to 22.
Under this scheme, the bank would be providing financing for renovation of the house, purchase of already built house or for construction of the house.
This scheme would be in addition to already launched consumer financing schemes of the bank, under which BoP was providing loans for various domestic appliances, computers and others.
Moreover, the sources claimed that search for new chairman of the Bank of Punjab (BoP) is in progress to fill the post fell vacant after the resignation tendered by Hafeez Akhtar Randhawa last week.
It may be mentioned that the Punjab Finance Secretary, Salman Siddiq is presently performing the additional responsibility as acting Chairman BoP.
