The Transport and Communication Department of City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has issued notice to the Managing Director of Green Bus Company telling him that as per agreement under Urban Transport Scheme (UTS), he cannot sell out the company to any other operator.
It may be pointed out that under Urban Transport Scheme, the Karachi Green Bus Company (Pvt) Limited had entered into an agreement with CDGK for operating large size AC CNG buses from Safoora Goth to Sea View.
Under the agreement, the company cannot be sold out to anyone for five years, nor can transfer route to any other operator, the EDO Transport, CDGK, said.
The company had agreed to bring air-conditioned buses from China to operate under UTS.
However, it came to the knowledge of transport department that they are selling the company to someone else, which is a violation of the agreement.
