One-day series

04 Apr, 2004

The conclusion of the one-day series with India has proved the following.
1. That our vaunted and fearsome pace attack is not what it is, trumpeted to be. Instead it is, at best wayward, erratic and no-ball or wide-ball prone.
2. That our batting is quite brittle.
3. That our coaching department is incompetent. Sending hand signals from the pavilion balcony is not what coaching is all about.
4. That the captain of our team lacks leadership skill and is totally devoid of tactics and thinking.
The present team is only good for winning matches against Bangladesh, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
