130 students to be offered foreign awards

The British Council has announced that Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate awards are open to top quality science, engineering, medicine, social sciences and technology students from overseas to study for PhD over a period of three to four years, at an average annual cost per student of 25,000 pound sterling.
The overall maximum annual cost per student could be up to 75,000 pound sterling.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday, approximately 130 students will be offered these awards from October 2004.
One Research Council and one industrial partner will jointly fund each scholarship, it added.
