2,303 families of Lyari Expressway project allotted plots

As many as 2,303 families affected by Lyari Expressway project have so far been allotted plots in Tehsar Town, the Sindh Chief Minister's Advisor for special projects, Mumtaz Hameed was informed during his visit to the town on Monday.
The Project Director, Shafiqur Rehman Paracha told him that sector 35 of the town comprised 2423 plots while sector 36 had 3590 plots.
He said that seven schools, thirteen parks, three hospitals, mosques, dispensary, community centres and press club would also be constructed in the town.
He informed the advisor that system for water supply and sewerage had been completed in the town. "For the time being water is supplied to the town through tankers, and the problem would be resolved after direct line for water supply from North East Karachi is provided," he said and added that tender for this work would be opened on March 31.
Shafiq Paracha further told that an office would soon start working in Tehsar Town, after which the problems of residents of the town would be resolved locally.
He said that 50 to 60 families were being allotted plots daily. He requested the advisor for inclusion of lands between sector 35 and 36 in the project, on which he promised to communicate to Sindh governor in this respect.
The provincial advisor asked about sports grounds and directed the project director to start sports activities in the area so as to provide a good atmosphere to youngsters.
He further directed that place be reserved for cottage industry in the town.
Later, the advisor visited bazaar, under-construction school and park and met with public.
At the park he directed the contractor to take special care for standard of work.
He praised the way of building boundary walls around the park and issued directives for further improvement in park construction.
The advisor praised the work of Project Director Shafiqur Rehman Paracha and his staff.
Director Planning Manzar Zahoor, Superintendent Engineer Nand Lal, Director Land Qazi Khalid and XEN Abdul Aziz Memon were also present.
