Pakistan having world best students: British Council

Pakistan has some of the best students in the world. This was announced in a British Council statement issued here on Wednesday.
It said that every year the British Council along with the UK boards, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and Edexcel International has been recognising the high achievement of these students who perform brilliantly in the O/A/AS level examinations.
The list of the GCE high achievers 2003 was also released by the British Council.
Those who were top in the world in June 2003 O Level were: Zawar Munawar Saleemi of City School (Additional Mathematics), Asma Hamid of Karachi Grammar School (Art), Shaikh Zubairuddin Nizami of Karachi International School (Chemistry), Mirza Omair Baig of British Council Karachi (Commerce), Daniyal Hussain of Karachi Grammar School (Computer Studies, Hamna Zubair of The City School (Economics), Samuel Abid Nunes of Karachi Grammar School (English Literature), Naira Saeed of Karachi Grammar School (Mathematics).
Zawar Munawar Saleemi also achieved the distinction of top in the world in principles of accounts in June 2003.
Saba Shaikh of Beaconhouse School got this very honour in Statistics in A Level.
The British Council also announced the name of those who were top in Pakistan in various disciplines in O Level, AS Level and GCE Level in June 2003 as well as those top in Karachi during the period.
