149pc increase in Women Development budget

KARACHI: The current revenue expenditure of Women Development Department has been increased from Rs 92 million in the current fiscal year to Rs 229.1 million in next financial year.

This is a substantial increase of 149pc, said Sindh Senior Minister for Finance, Planning and Development Syed Murad Ali Shah in his budget speech Saturday.

Rs 135 million have also been allocated for legal aid of poor women and children prisoners. Rs 13.242 million for Women Complaint Cell and Rs 3.192 million have been allocated for Day Care Centre.

SNE provision for establishment of Women complaint cell at divisional level has been kept.

The ADP for the next financial year is projected at Rs 426 million, which is an increase of 6.5pc over ADP of Rs 4OO million of the current fiscal year.
