Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Five ships C.V CMA CGM Amazon, C.V Maersk Salalah, M.V Alam Mutiara, M.T Atlantic Glory and M.T Asmaa schedule to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals and furnace oil were arranged berthing at Qaim international Container Terminal, multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

Meanwhile three more ships M.T Glove Tania, M.V Pazeh Wisdom and M.T Asian Glory with LPG coke and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berths occupancy was managed at the port at sixty percent on Wednesday where a total of nine ships namely C.V CMA CGM Amazon, C.V Maersk, Salalah, C.V Maersk Columbus, M.T Han Zheng, M.V Alam Mutiara, M.V Chemroad Lily, M.V Ikan Bawal, M.T Atlantic Glory and M.T Asmaa were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, coal, project cargo, soya bean seeds, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 100,985 tonnes, comprising 68,443 tonnes imports and 32,542 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,570 containers (TEUs)(1,752 TEUs imports and 829 TEUs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Two ships, M.T Chemroad lily and Maersk Columbus sailed out to sea on Thursday, while another ships C.V CMA CGM Amazon is expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Four ships C.V Suez Canal, M.T Globe Tania, m.T Asian Glory and M.V Pozeh Wisdom carrying containers, LPG, palm oil and coke are expected to take berths at QICT, SSGC, LCT and MW-3 respectively on Thursday, while two more containers ship CCNI Arauco and Hougo Schulte are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday.
