ARD protest drive enters fourth day

Protest drive of Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) entered the fourth day on Monday. It demanded for announcement of schedule for General Elections and resignation of General Pervez Musharraf.
"We are demanding immediate announcement of schedule for General elections, resignation of General Pervez Musharraf, release of nuclear scientists, ending unemployment, poverty, hunger and withdrawal of constitutional amendment and the restoration of supremacy of the Parliament," said Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Central Vice Chairman of PPP.
"Government should take the entire nation into confidence on the Indo-Pak talk, Kashmir, and nuclear programme and not to enforce US dictated policies in the country," said Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Deputy Secretary General of PPP.
Protest camps were established in 34 districts of Punjab on the fourth day of protest, which would continue till February 20.
Then ARD would announce the second phase of its protest strategy.
On Monday more than 200 activists of PPP, PML-N and PDP took part in the protest camp at Chowk Chungi No 8.
Protest camps were also established in Muzaffargarh, Leiah, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lodhran, Vehari, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahimyarkhan.
