Law and order arrangements reviewed in Jhang

The government is committed to ensure law and order during Muharram and all possible measures are being taken in this regard.
This was stated by Brigadier Amir Mumtaz while addressing a meeting held here to review law and order arrangements for Muharram in Jhang district.
He said: "Ulema can play a pivotal role to create atmosphere of brotherhood and their co-operation will be sought for the purpose."
He further said that strict checking would be ensured in the city to keep vigil on anti-social elements.
Earlier, DCO Asif Khan briefed Brigadier Amir Mumtaz about the security arrangements being made in the district for Muharram.
UPLIFT SCHEMES: District government is completing 10 big development schemes at a cost of Rs 60 million during the current fiscal year.
This was stated by District Nazim Sahibzada Sultan Hameed, while reviewing the development schemes in a meeting here on Saturday.
He said these schemes included construction of underpass on Gojra road Railway crossing, construction of Chund Lalian road, renovation and rehabilitation of Omar Hayat Mahal in Chiniot, construction of extra classrooms in Islamia College Chiniot, construction of Tehsil Complex Shorkot, Government College for Boys, Jhang's female hostel, road from Adda Ahmedpur to Ahmedpur city etc.
The meeting was told that work on six schemes had already been started while tenders for other four schemes had been called.
The District Nazim directed the officials to shift Union Council office from Omar Hayat Mahal to other place. He urged upon the concerned authorities for timely completion of these schemes.
