Teachers urged to help reform society

District Nazim, Colonel Ali Ahmed Awan (Retd) has called upon the teachers to play their vital role not only in improving the standard of education but also reforming the society.
He was addressing the Education Conference here in the Jinnah Hall which was attended by large number of teachers of the district and officials of the education department.
He said that the teachers should concentrate on the improvement of standard in the educational institutions so that their pupils shoulder the future responsibilities being a good citizens.
Ali Ahmed said that present government is determined to eliminate illiteracy and district government was sincerely implementing the policy of the government in the district. He assured that with the co-operation of teachers community he would purge black sheep from the department.
Earlier, Mian Mohammad Sharif, EDO (Education) said that the District Nazim along with officers of the department have recently conducted surprise visits to 70 schools in the district and ordered for the provision of basic amenities in these institutions Later, the District Nazim gave away appreciation certificates to the teachers.
