Punjab government takes serious note of delay in projects

Punjab government has taken serious notice of delay in completion of the Nullah Lai project, installation of pipeline for water supply scheme and construction of sewerage system in Rawalpindi city.
The delay in Rs 4.13 billion Nullah Lai project is due to lack of co-ordination among the heads and officials of the different organisations working on this project. Nullah Lai widening and construction of bridges at Gawalmandi and Dhok Charag Din has not been completed even after three extensions.
The District Government has been asked to submit report as to which elements were causing hurdles, sources in the Local Government Ministry of Punjab told this scribe.
They said that Minister Mushtaq Kiani has directed the District Nazim to submit a detailed report on the delay and to fix responsibility so as the guilty could be taken to task.
Sources said that the Local Government Ministry took serious note of use of substandard material in construction of roads in Rawalpindi as after very short time the roads in Dhok Kashmiryan, Sadiqabad, Satellite Town, Dhok Kala Khan and other areas are giving shabby outlook.
