The Centre for Promotion of Exports from Developing Countries (CBI) of Netherlands will provide assistance and guidance to Pakistan's growers and exporters to enter the organic food market
This was stated by the consultant to CBI, Toost Pierrot, while addressing a workshop on 'Organic Food Ingredients for Industrial Use', jointly organised by EPB and CBI here on Monday. Consultants, growers and exporters of various items attended the workshop.
He suggested that Pakistan's growers and exporters should enter the organic food export which is the market for future.
"It is important to enter organic market as it will pay you a lot. The price of your items will be higher and your country will be entered in the ranks of countries producing organic food," he added.
He said that CBI will provide information about the ways and technique to growers and exporter for producing organic food for export purposes. Pierrot said that growers have to use organic or compost fertilisers, organic pesticides, organic material for processing of food export.
He said that CBI would invite Pakistan's exporters to the international trade fairs in Europe to display their organic products--free of cost. "The exporters will pay only air ticket and hotel expenses and we will provide them display space with technical support at the fair, free of cost," he added.
