The Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC), while sending a petition to IG Police, Punjab, directed him to take necessary action against the responsible police officials for keeping six persons in illegal detention for about 70 days.
The court passed these orders in a petition filed by one Muhammad Yousaf against SHO Changa Manga.
He has prayed to the court to direct the respondent SHO to produce the detenue before the court.
The court, taking serious note of the attitude of the respondent police officials, referred the petition to the IG Punjab and directed him to take disciplinary actions against the respondents.
