International Schools Educational Olympiad starts

The Fifth International Schools Educational Olympiad - ISEO 2004 commenced on Saturday after much fanfare and excitement from schools all across Pakistan. Over a hundred schools are participating this year, inclusive delegates from India.
The five-day event is organised by Karachi High School and sponsored by Intel Pakistan Corporation.
Providing the ISEO platform for the fifth consecutive year, Mrs Parveen Kassim, Principal, Karachi High School and Chairperson ISEO, in her address of welcome expressed her delight and gratitude to all the participating schools who have contributed towards making the ISEO a resounding success.
She said that each year more and more categories are added to the Olympiad and it is heart-warming to see increased participation from schools in the Olympiad with every passing year.
The sundry categories of ISEO 2004 comprise of quiz competitions, theatres, group discussion, photography, film making, elocution, art, cyber fair, vocals and many more.
The event is well attended by representatives from the corporate sector, celebrities and various education institutions.
Kamil F Hasan, Country Manager, Intel Pakistan Corporation, stated that Intel is a strong advocate of creative learning and it is an event like those, which provide the ideal platform to bring children from various cities on one platform hence enabling them to exchange ideas, compete, learn, win and have fun.
He further stated that in order to bridge the digital divide, Intel to date via its Intel Teach to the Future Program has trained 57,000 teachers from 56 cities of Pakistan.-PR
