General Yusaf visits 13 Lancers at Gujranwala Garrison

Vice Chief of Army Staff, General Mohammad Yusaf Khan, who is also the Colonel in Chief of Armoured Corps, visited 13 Lancers at Gujranwala Garrison and pinned the badges of ranks onto the shoulders of Brigadier Mukhtar Ahmed (Retd) to formally install him as the new Colonel of the Regiment.
While paying rich tributes to the contributions of the officers and Jawans of the Regiment, the Vice Chief of Army Staff said "13 Lancers has sacrificed many lives in honour of the country which itself is a great laurel for the regiment."
Recounting the glorious history of the Regiment, spanning over 186 years, Vice Chief of Army Staff urged officers and men of the Regiment, to continue upholding their unique and unparalleled traditions" says an ISPR press release issued here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chief of Army Staff paid rich compliments to Major General Khurshid Alam (Retd) for successfully completing his tenure of the Colonel of the Regiment.
At the same time, he complimented Brig Mukhtar Ahmed (Retd) on becoming Colonel of the Regiment of such a fine regiment. He wished Brig. Mukhtar (Retd) all the success for his tenure.
Earlier, the Vice Chief of Army Staff was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Javed Hassan, Inspector General Training and Evaluation Lieutenant General Zarrar Azim and other senior officers of the Garrison.
The ceremony was attended by large number of senior serving and retired officers and junior commissioned officers and Jawans of the Regiment.
General Yusaf also witnessed a demonstration at the firing ranges of a new target system, indigenously developed by the Pakistan Army.
