Punjab earmarks Rs three billion to strengthen police department

Punjab government has earmarked Rs 3 billion for providing new jobs in the police department to overcome the shortage of personnel in the department.
Addressing an open Kutchery at Rejana Town, the Deputy Inspector General Police Faisalabad Range, Abid Saeed, said that FA/FSc pass youths would be recruited as constables in the police force. "These recruits will be provided the best possible training," he said.
Commenting on the large number of complaints, he said, "the District Governments are taking every possible step to improve the law & order situation in the range and it is decided to set up six patrolling posts in Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh to control the highway robberies during the current fiscal.
"We are implementing a comprehensive plan to control crimes while steps are being taken to check robberies on highways," he added.
