Sindh asks Nadra to extend old NICs validity up to June

Sindh government has asked Nadra to extend the validity of old National Identity Card (NIC) for six months.
The validity of old cards expired on December 31 but it has been extended up to January 31.
Sindh Government is understood to have advanced the plea that people living in rural areas are not able to get the computerised card easily. Therefore, they require more time for this purpose.
It is learnt that there are millions of the people in Sindh who are without the computerised cards.
There are 26 centres in Sindh to issue new cards.
Sindh Government said that it was not possible that this much population would be able to secure the new cards by January 31 next.
