Martyrdom Day observed

Pakistan Mazdoor Kissan Party, Labour Party, Communist Mazdoor Kisan Party, Seraiki Awami Party and Seraiki National Party observed the martyrdom day on Friday to pay homage to those more than 40 workers who laid down their lives for the cause of working class on January 2, 1978.
A demonstration was staged at Chowk Nawan Shehr under the leadership of Mehfooz Khan Shujaat, and Comrade Yamin Qureshi.
A number of trade union leaders including Malik Ghulam Abbas Langarial took part in the demo.
Participants were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans: Hang the killers of workers; January 2 be declared as Labour Day; Withdraw new Industrial Relations Ordinance; Protect the rights of industrial and farm workers; Fair price shops be opened for workers; Housing colonies for daily wages workers be constructed.
Later they dispersed peacefully.
