CHESTER-LE-STREET: Sri Lanka were 32 for one in reply to England's first innings 498 for nine declared, a deficit of 466 runs, at tea on the second day of the second Test at the Riverside on Saturday.

Kaushal Silva was nine not out and Kusal Mendis 14 not out.

Earlier, Moeen Ali's Test-best 155 not out was the centrepiece of England's total.

England lead this three-match series 1-0 after their innings and 88-run victory in the first Test at Headingley last week.
