ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed an appeal filed by a 51 years old medical student for appearing in the examination for 31st time.

The court remarked that Pakistan Medical & Dental Council rules allowed only five years time for reappearing in the examinations while the petitioner failed to pass a subject even in a period of ten years.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard an appeal filed by a medical student Tariq Javed of King Edward Medical College against the Lahore High Court's order.

The prosecution counsel apprised the court that Tariq Javed got admission in King Edward Medical College Lahore in 1985. He appeared in three exams for MBBS degree in 1990, 1991 and 1992. He also appeared in examination in 2011 last time.

The bench upheld the decision of the Lahore High Court and dismissed the appeal.
