Sweden's envoy calls on Sindh CM

KARACHI: Sweden Ambassador, Ms Ingrid Johansson called on Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah and discussed bilateral issues and investment opportunities in Sindh.

The CM Sindh said that there were vast wind and solar power corridors in the province where huge investment opportunities are available, said a statement on Tuesday.

He added that in Thar coalfield there were vast coals reserves on which China, Australia and some other countries have started working.

The Sindh government was also working with Engro -power in partnership to establish coal-fired power plant.

The Ambassador said that she would discuss the opportunities in energy sector with her government and business community.

She also discussed the heatstroke issues due to sweltering weather with the CM Sindh.

The CM Sindh apprised her about rapid response centers set up all over the city of Karachi to deal with the heatstroke cases.

The CM Sindh presented her a memento of the CM House and traditional Khes to the visiting diplomat.
