Govt utilizes Rs 6.4 billion on 714 projects

KHANEWAL: Punjab government had utilized Rs 6.4 billion on 714 different uplift projects in district Khanewal.

Official sources said that the projects included widening and construction of 26 roads on which Rs 3.23 billion were spent.

Similarly, other uplift schemes include overhead bridge, upgradation of District Headquarters Hospital (125 beds to 250 beds), Trauma Centre, THQ Kabirwala upgradation, BHUs Sardarpur, Kukar Hatta and some projects of solid waste management.

Two new colleges, one at Tulamba and other at Abdul Hakeem, upgradation of Saray Sidhu college and Kacha Khoh college also part of the development work, carried out in the district.

Similarly, missing facilities were also provided to schools of the district. The government is also spending Rs 1.39 billion on improvement of sewerage system in the district.

While work on canals management for irrigation purposes, Rescue 1122 buildings in Khanewal, Jahanian and Fish Hatchery was also completed, official sources added.
