Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where four ships C.V Sealand Champion, C.V CMA CGM Attila, M.T Wel Beck and M.T Tomson Gas carrying Containers, Palm oil and LPG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Wednesday, 4th May-2016.

Meanwhile three more ships M.V Lalis-D, M.T Chemroad Haya and C.V MSC Charleston with Coal, Phosphoric Acid and Containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at 47% at the Port on Wednesday where a total of seven ships namely, C.V Sealand Champion, C.V CMA CGM Attila, C.V CMA CGM Thomes, M.V N-Amalthia, M.T Tomson Gas, M.T wel Beck and M.T Omera Queen were occupied PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Soya Bean seeds, LPG, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 112,269 tonnes, comprising 66,669 tonnes imports and 45,600 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,490 Containers (TEUs)(2,090 TEUs imports & 2,400 TEUS exports) was handled at the Port.

A total of five ships C.V Sealand Champion, C.V CMA CGM Thames, M.V N-Amalthia, M.T Tomson Gas and M.T Omera Queen sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.

Six ships C.V MSC Charleston, C.V Mataquito, M.V Tomini Harmony, M.V Lalis-D, M.T Bahra and M.T Chemroad Haya carrying Containers, Soya bean seeds, Coal Diesel oil and Phosphoric Acid are expected to lake berths of Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday, 5th May-2016. While two more ships M.V Star Delta and C.V Mataquito carrying coal and containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and C.V Palena and C.V Uni Florida are due to arrive on Friday, May 6,2016.
