SC dismissed review appeal seeking disqualification of MPA

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Monday dismissed a review appeal seeking disqualification of a Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) elected from PS-59 Badin.

The three-member bench of the court headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case filed by Nawaz Chandio.

During the course of proceedings, Farooq H. Naek counsel for the petitioner told the court that by-elections were held in the constituency and his client lost the election. Later, the court dismissed the petition.

Meanwhile, hearing another election matter of PS-23 Noshero Feroze, the bench headed by Justice, Saqib Nisar also dismissed the review appeal filed by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz's candidate Masroor Jatoi.

During proceedings of the case, the counsel for Masroor Jatoi told the court that Pakistan People Party's candidate won the by-election in the constituency.

Later the court dismissed the case after declaring the petition ineffective.
