Pakistan enjoys unique status in the world for having a complete textile chain from cotton growing to value-added garments.
Pakistan is 4th cotton producing and third largest country to use it. More than 15 million skilled and un-skilled manpower is associated with this industry, said Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan.
The Governor was talking to a Jordan delegation here at the Governor House, which was led by Marvaan, said an official statement here. He apprised the delegation of the best investment opportunities available in textile sector in Sindh. This sector ensures quick and good profit.
He said as a result of operation 'Zarb-i-Azb' the law and order situation in the country had visibly improved and now the foreign investors were showing great interest to invest in Pakistan.
Honorary Consul General to Jordan Yousuf Farrukh informed the Governor that Jordan investors were interested to invest in textile industry of Pakistan. Joint ventures would be preferred.
He said Jordan also desired to see Pakistani investment in textile sector there.
He said Jordan also wanted to import textile products from Pakistan. For this purpose, memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at TEXPO exhibition, held recently here.
