Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships C.V Toronto and C.V Al-Safat carrying Containers were berthed at Qasim international container Terminal on Monday, 11th April-2016.

Meanwhile two more ships M.V Stade and M.T Autourus carrying General cargo and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 47% on Monday where a total at seven ships namely C.V Toronto, C.V Al-Safat, M.V Diamond Sea, M.V Sea Wave, M.V Da Yu Xia, M.V Alpha Flame and M.T Delia-i are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Project cargo, Canola seeds and Palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 74,908n tonnes, comprising 45,456 tonnes imports and 29,452 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,543 Containers (TEUs) (1,161 TEUs imports & 1,382 TEUS exports) was handled at the Port.

M.V Sea Wave sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships C.V Toronto, C.V Al-Safat and M.V Diamond Sea are expected to sail on same day today.

Four ships C.V Maersk Pittsburgh, M.V An African, M.V Stode and M.T White Puri scheduled to load/offload Containers, Cement, General cargo and LPG are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Tuesday, 12th April-2016. while C.V CMA CGM Amazon and M.V Bao Yue with Containers and project cargo are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and another container vessels `Maersk Svannah' is due to arrive on Wednesday, 13th April-2016.
