Funds of BISP increased for 33 to 104bn: Marvi Memon

NOESHERA: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Marvi Memon Tuesday informed that federal government has increased funds of the program from 33 billion rupees to 104 billion rupees and 5.2 million people are getting benefits for this welfare oriented scheme.

Talking to media during his visit to Mohib Banda, she said Waseela-e-Taleem program launched under BISP was meant to educate each and every children of the society.

She said that about one million children were registered under Waseela-e-Taleem and efforts have been initiated to further increase the number. She also directed authorities to expedite registration of children under the program.

Marvi said that various programs have been launched under BISP to decrease poverty level and alleviate socio-economic conditions of people.

She said that government was tirelessly endeavoring to help out needy and Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has also issued directives to further increase the ambit of Waseela-e-Taleem Program.
