Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Brisk shipping was recorded at Port Qasim on Sunday where six ships C.V MSC Valencia, C.V Anke, M.V Sea Wave, M.T Ocean Coral, M.T Able Sailor, M.T Chemroad Dita and M.T Okyroe scheduled to load/offload containers, Cement, Palm oil, Chemicals and Furnace oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively.

Meanwhile, six more ships scheduled to load/offload Containers, Cement, Wheat, Project cargo and Chemicals also arrive at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 53% on Sunday where a total of eight ships namely C.V MSC Valencia, C.V Anke, C.V Nicoline Maersk, M.V Sea Wave, M.T Ocean Coral, M.T Able Sailor, M.T Chemroad Dita and M.t Okyroe were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Palm oil, Project cargo, Chemicals and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 81,980 tonnes comprising 44,265 tonnes imports and 37,715 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,654 Containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.

Containers Vessel `MSC Valencia' sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another containers ship `Anke' is expected to sail on same day.

Four ships C.VE.R Yokohama C.V Al-Manamah, M.V Hen Fong and M.V Lake St Clair scheduled to load/offload containers, Wheat and Project cargo are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and Multipurpose Terminal respectively on Monday, 4th April-2016.
