Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where four ships C.V Maersk Kithira, C.V MSC Lisbon, C.V CMA CGM Uruguay and M.T Al-Gharrafa carrying containers and 141,125 cubic meters LNG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Wednesday (March 30).

Meanwhile, four more ships C.V Maersk Kithira, M.t Al-Gharrfa, M.T Au Leo and JS Green Speed with Containers, LNG, Palm oil and Chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Fifty three percent berth occupancy was recorded at the Port on Wednesday where a total of eight ships namely C.V Maersk Kithira, C.V MSC Lisbon C.V CMA CGM Uruguay, M.V Adventure-K, M.T Boronai, M.T Corona, M.T White Puri and M.T Al- Gharrafa were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Furnace oil, Palm oil LPG and LNG respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 163,031 tonnes, comprising 119,349 tonnes imports and 43,683 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 5,358 Containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port. Departures:

Oil tanker`Boronai' sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships C.V CMA CGM Uruguay and M.T White Puri are expected to sail on some day afternoon. Arrival Schedule:

Two ships C.V CMA CGM corneille and M.T JS Green Speed carrying containers and Chemicals are expected to take berths at container terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Thursday, March 31, 2016.
