INDIAN WELLS: French Open champion Stan Wawrinka defeated Illya Marchenko 6-3, 6-2 to reach the third round of the ATP and WTA Indian Wells tennis tournament on Saturday.

Third seed Wawrinka, who will turn 31 later this month, moves on to face unseeded Russian Andrey Kuznetsov who beat Jeremy Chardy in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.
