KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan during his visit to different parks in the metropolis Saturday ordered immediate installation of close circuit television cameras in each of these and also their connection to Command and Control Centre.

Sindh Governor accompanied by provincial minister for local bodies, Jam Khan Shoro and Karachi Commissioner, Syed Asif Hyder Shah, said provision for CCTV and cameras will create a sense of security among the people visiting the parks.

It will also help preventing presence of criminals and anti- social elements at the sites, said the governor.

He directed the concerned authorities to ensure maximum plantation in these parks and also to develop jogging tracks as people, of all age groups in Karachi, are in dire need of healthy recreational activities.

Seeking immediate provision for fixed benches with proper lighting arrangements in the parks of Karachi, the Sindh Governor said events, often under the pretext of festivals, held here must be avoided as it has been found to have damaged actual purpose of parks.

He directed that status of all plots dedicated as parks must be retained and separate sites be identified for events as festival etc.
