WELLINGTON: New Zealand were 84-5 at lunch on the opening day of the first Test against Australia at the Basin Reserve in Wellington on Friday.
For Australia, Josh Hazlewood has three for 25 and Peter Siddle two for six.
Martin Guptill made 18 for New Zealand while Corey Anderson was not out 14 with BJ Watling on 13.
