Senate pays rich tribute to Fatima Surayya, Malik Muhammad Ali

ISLAMABAD: The Senate on Thursday passed two separate resolutions to expressed grief and sorrow on the sad demises of former Deputy Chairman Senate Malik Muhammad Ali Khan and renowned writer Fatima Surayya Bajia.

Senator Hadayat Ullah moved the resolution in the house to express sympathy and condolence with the grieved family of Malik Muhammad Ali Khan.

Speaking on the occasion, he said being Deputy Chairman Senate Malik Muhammad Ali Khan had played constructive role in national and regional issues.

His services for the country were unforgettable, he added. Meanwhile, Senator Khushbakht Shujat moved resolution in the upper house of the Parliament to pay rich tribute to the famous writer and Drama writer Fatima Surayya Bajia and expressed grief on her death.

Speaking on the occasion, Khushbakht Shujat said Fatima Surayya Bajia had made remarkable contribution in promotion of Urdu literature in Pakistan. She said an important chapter of Urdu literature has been closed after her death.

The House also offered prayer for the departure souls of Malik Muhammad Ali Khan and Fatima Surayya Bajia. Senator Raja Zafarul Haq offered Fatia in the house.
