KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday sought comments from deputy attorney general Sindh on the petition filed by Pakistan People Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Inam Memon who sought the court's direction to restrain the NAB from arresting him in relation to an alleged inquiry.

Former information minister had filed two different petitions for the removal of his name from Exit Control List (ECL) and to avoid his possible arrest by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on his arrival at airport in respect to inquiry against him.

SHC bench heard Memon's petition and directed deputy attorney general to file the comments in the next hearing.

Earlier, the court had inquired about the schedule of Memon's return to home so that appropriate orders could be passed, accordance to law. It also directed the NAB to inform the court whether any inquiry is underway in the NAB against Memon.

The petitioner submitted that the NAB is trying to implicate him in false cases without any cause, reason and without opportunities for him being heard. He stated that he was never involved in any corruption or misuse of authority.

Citing Chairman and director general of NAB as respondents, Memon prayed to the SHC to restrain NAB from arresting him without the court's permission.
