ISLAMABAD: Senate will hold its next session on Wednesday on the requisition of opposition and is likely to discuss issues of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and reduction of prices of petroleum products in the wake of lower prices in international market.

Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani had summoned the session in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (3) of Article 54, read with Article 61 of the Constitution.

An official of PR department of Senate told that the session had been called on a requisition of the opposition parties to discuss PIA privatization, the enforcement of Essential Service Maintenance Act 1952 in PIA and on depriving masses of benefits of massive decline in petroleum prices in international market.

The senators from PPP, MQM, PTI, PML(Q) and BNP (Awami) had signed the requisition.
