Shahid Afridi conferred CSR award by NFEH

KARACHI: Shahid Khan Afridi, seasoned cricketer and also the chairman of Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF), has been conferred the 8th Corporate Social Responsibility by National Forum for Environment and Health.

The ceremony to confer CSR award to Shahid Afridi was held here at a local hotel the other day where NFEH President, Muhammad Naeem Qureshi presented the award to the SAF chairman, said a press release issued here Thursday.

The CSR award was conferred to Shahid Afridi in due recognition of his tireless services in sectors of education, health, youth development, promotion of sporting facilities. Foremost among these services is a charitable hospital having modern health facilities being run in native village of Shahid Afridi near Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Chief Executive Officer of Shahid Afridi Foundation Col (retired) Akram Afridi, its founding director Owais Mir, and General Manager of the foundation Muhammad Musaddiq Aziz, NFEH Secretary Ruqiya Naeem, Vice-President of the forum Engineer Nadeem Ashraf, Anis Younus also attended the ceremony.

On the occasion, NFEH chief Naeem Qureshi appreciated services of Shahid Afridi for the sports and social sectors including those related to youth.

He also acknowledged the services of Shahid Afridi Foundation, which at present has been working on a number of ideas and projects for resolving pressing social problems of youth and of other deprived sections of the society.
